let's abolish a bunch of medical debt

Over the past few Septembers, How I'd Fix Atlanta has partnered with a nonprofit organization called Undue Medical Debt. We've raised more than $70,000 in donations from folks like you, money that Undue has used to abolish more than $12 million of medical debt for families all over the Atlanta metro. This year, we’re starting with a goal of $10,000, but are hoping to raise much more.

Please post it to your social channels. Drop it in your group chats. Bug your rich friends. Send it to coworkers. Get your employer to match your donation. Help us get this in front of lots of folks. We're gonna spend the next week or so seeing how much money we can raise. It's gonna be great.

Here's how it works: on average, $10 is leveraged to abolish $1,000 in medical debt. (Put another way: if you donate $100, you'll cancel out $10,000!) When someone's debt is wiped out, they get an envelope in the mail from Undue Medical Debt letting them know that their burden has been lifted. Erased with no strings attached. They owe nothing and face no tax penalty. Pretty rad, right?
