a quick fundraiser check-in

As we enter the final stretch of this thing, I just wanted to say thank you for putting up with all the emails and Bluesky posts and text messages and and and. It's a lot, I know. But we're making progress! Check out that number above. It's a big number. Let's make it even bigger.

A few notes on this beautiful Thursday:

• If you're on LinkedIn, there's a post for that. If you're on Nextdoor, there's one there as well. Please engage with those if you're the kinda person who hangs out on those terrible websites. As for HIFA, we are omni-channel. We are extremely online. We will never, ever log off. We are going to post this thing to the moon and back.
• We're still doing giveaways! Keep an eye on that thread and get yourself something nice. You deserve it.
• "It’s funny, because it’s the kind of thing you don’t often hear adults asking. Maybe because it feels stupid when you say it out loud? There’s an innocence to it, like, no, explain it to me like I’m a child. Why is this happening? Why do we let it happen?" That's from an essay I wrote a few years ago. It really gets to the heart of why we do this thing, so I'm going to end this on that note.
